My 2007 Testimonial
This year I have become a more confident person again. I have taken on MS and have controlled it. Call it my mid-life crisis but I needed to prove to myself that I can still do the things I took for granted.
I undertook to run a half marathon and to raise funds for the MS Society.
On October 21st I ran the Stroud Half Marathon in UK. I completed the course in 1hr 38 mins. A time I was very pleased with and raised over £663 for the charity.
I felt really good on this run. The main difference I noticed from many long runs I have done over the years was how comfortable I felt. Those who do endurance events will know that the body behaves differently when stressed. In particular the main intestine is starved of its blood supply whilst the body is looking after other things. Because of my diet regime, I no longer eat wheat, I found a fantastic benfit from not feeling bloated. I have done distance events in the past when I have literally been doubled up with bowel pain. Not any more!! This diet plan I have works, I am convinced.
