My 2009 Testimonial
Life is good! The weather in UK is fine as of June 2009 after a very cold winter. I have to say I must suffer a bit from the winter blues. The long cold winter left me at times feeling pretty low on energy. Come the sunshine and things really perk up. I don't know how many other people find this but it certainly prompts me and my wife Tania to look to plan a sunshine winter break to get some 're-charging' done.
For the past year however I am convinced the Candida is totally under control. I now have absolutely no rashes or itchy spots which was the Dermatitis Herpetiformis. The last was on my lower right shin which took a while to go. This sometimes became more itchy when I ate something sweet. Bizarre but I know this is a consequency of fermentation with the sugar in the gut.
Now, thanks to Threelac I have my bowel flora and fauna under control.
David Smyth my Kinesiologist has claimed me as his 'miracle case' . His testing in May 09 confirmed that Candida was not a problem and even my Gluten intolerance had dipped to a relatively insignificant level. He scores it at -6 which means I can tolerate Gluten one day in six. Don't ask me what all this means but suffice to say I do now indulge in the odd morsel. Usually I pinch a bit of the kid's pizza when we are out.
I still do suffer from bloating with anything involving wheat so I keep away from that as much as possible and I stay largely off anything dairy although the occasional ice cream is consumed.
I do find that good rest/sleep and keeping stress free is essential. If I allow myself to get tired then I never feel in tip top form but I'm sure that is the same for most people. It's just that bowel health is closely related to stress and I try to manage this properly.
We went on a cruise in April and there was a Life Coach on board who spoke about managing stress. He described managing our lives in three areas: Work, Home and Self. Within each area focus on completing things. I find not achieving stuff is very stressful. He advocated listing three things in each area and focus on achieving them before going onto anything else. Above all, get the balance right he said. This I believe is good advice. For me, work is going well and particularly by following the rule of three I feel I can achieve more and be satisfied. At Home there are always a million and one jobs to do so same applies here. For Self I count fitness (running and gym) and Golf as my outlets. Golf in particular is a superb relaxer. I have good friends who I play with and we all get away and have a good laugh and a joke. Nothing too serious and this takes our minds off everything else.
The key to all of this including managing Leaky Gut Syndrome, as with everything in life is - balance. It takes patience and dedication but you can find it. The principles in my book if they are followed, whilst being simple commonsense are true, they work and will benefit everyone hugely.
Good health!
Phil
